Joy Rescue Centre, while primarily operating as a rescue institution, embraces a unique structure due to its transient nature, accommodating a diverse range of children in varying circumstances. Within this dynamic framework, we provide a sanctuary for children aged 2 to 17, encompassing both girls and boys.
Among these young lives, we extend our support to several distinct categories of vulnerable children:
1. Orphans: Those who have tragically lost their parents and seek solace in our haven.
2. Destitute Children: Those who find themselves devoid of the basic necessities for a dignified life.
3. Abandoned Children: Those left adrift without the care and protection they deserve.
4. Neglected Children: Those who have been overlooked and denied proper care and attention.
5. Children Affected & Infected by HIV: Those grappling with the complexities of this challenging condition.
6. Children of Imprisoned Parent(s): Those who bear the weight of their parent(s)’ confinement.
7. Child Labourers: Those robbed of their innocence and rightful childhood due to labor exploitation.
8. Defiled Children: Those who have suffered the unspeakable and require healing and restoration.
9. Children Experiencing Torture: Those subjected to unimaginable pain, yearning for safety.
10. Children Forced into Early Marriage (Temporary Placement): Those in urgent need of intervention to escape harmful unions.
11. Malnourished Children: Those battling the detrimental effects of inadequate nourishment.
In the heart of our operation lies a commitment to provide temporary shelter, care, and nurturing guidance to children facing these diverse challenges. The Joy Rescue Centre remains a beacon of hope, embracing these children with open arms and offering them a chance to rediscover their resilience, joy, and potential amidst life’s most trying circumstances.
Joy Rescue Centre is a Charitable Children’s Institution (CCI) registered by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social service now the ministry of labour and social protection. It was established in the year 2006 by the founder and vision bearer Joyce Kabugua.
