Will consider admission to a child as a last option or a matter of urgency to rescue the child for immediate care and protection.
The official channel of admission- must be done through the following : court committal, police, children’s department.
Emergency rescue placement cases – will only be considered when the child’s life is in danger and brought either on a public holiday or weekend by the village elder, chief or nyumba kumi elder. Which all should liaise with the children department to report.
Assessment – through the social worker all children a few days after their arrival are assessed to ascertain their condition in order to help plan for intervention. This is taken with a high level of confidentiality that includes medical status.
Intervention – after proper assessment right action is taken for the child with all possible help for the benefit of the child.
Re-Integration – it’s not our mandate to hold children in our Centre unless their life is in danger or there is no other alternative for the child. This is done through proper channels in liaison with the concerned government departments.
Beneficiary – this is our last stage where we try to incorporate the child to the society when they attain government recognized maturity year 18 years. At this point most children are now adults ready to face the world, we help and guide them to live independently.
